Real Housewives of Orange County
star Tamra Barney is currently recovering from a health scare that landed her in the hospital, according to an interview she did with the National Enquirer
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
"For the past month or so, I thought what I had was maybe an ulcer. Every once in a while I would get these excruciating pains but they would go away, on Monday [August 27] they did not," Tamra said in the interview.
It wasn't until after she experienced a similar incident but without the pain subsiding that she knew something was seriously wrong.
"Eddie was gone to a meeting and I was home alone sitting on the couch drinking a coup of coffee when a sharp pain hit me like a ton of bricks; at first I thought it would go away, but it didn't," she said. "Within minutes I was doubled over, it was the worst pain I've ever suffered in my life, it was 100 times more painful than child birth."
That's when the reality TV star decided to call 911, but she was barely able to do so because of the crippling pain. Fortunately, an ambulance arrived within minutes.
"At the hospital the doctors first thought I had a perforated ulcer, but what they found after conducting some tests was much more complex. It was a hernia the size of a dollar in my abdomen wall that my bowels were entering through."
Tamra entered emergency surgery that lasted about three hours into Tuesday morning. She has stayed active on Twitter
and has kept fans informed that she is currently still in the hospital in recovery and full of pain medication. She also thanked co-stars Heather Dubrow and her husband Dr. Terry Dubrow for coming to visit her and hopes to be home in time for her birthday on Sunday.
Well wishes to Tamra!Gina PusateriContributing Writer(Image courtesy of Bravo)
