After giving viewers a snapshot of the '70s, Swingtown wraps up its first 13-episode season. The series, which taps on the impact of sexual and social liberation in suburban households during the 1970s, comes to a close tonight with the question of the future of the show still unanswered.  Will tonight's episode be the season finale or will it be the series finale?  While the series has not been a ratings hit, it has, however, created a lot of buzz and media coverage.

In a nutshell, Swingtown initially takes place in the summer of 1976 when the Miller family decides to relocate to a more affluent neighborhood in Chicago. Bruce Miller (Jack Davenport), a futures trader working his way up in the business, and his housewife Susan (Molly Parker) eventually meet their new neighbors in the form of Tom and Trina Decker (Grant Show and Lana Parrilla).  Roger and Janet Thompson (Josh Hopkins and Miriam Shor), the Millers' neighbors from their old neighborhood try to maintain their friendship with the Millers but are appalled when they learn about the Deckers' open marriage.  As for the Millers' children, daughter Laurie (Shanna Collins) explores her relationship with her summer school Philosophy teacher, while son B.J. (Aaron Howles) befriends Samantha Saxton (Brittany Robertson), an enigmatic girl who lives next door.

In the season finale of Swingtown called "Take it to the Limit," Susan, Bruce, Trina, Tom, Roger and Janet are forced to face life altering decisions that could make or break their marriages during Trina and Tom's annual end of the summer clambake and key party.  Guests starring on tonight's installment are Rylan Williams, Karina Logue and Karina Logue.

Don't forget to catch the conclusion of Swingtown tonight at 10pm ET/PT on CBS.  Meanwhile, fans can relive the drama involving Quaalude and orgies as Paramount Home Entertainment releases Swingtown – The First Season DVD in December.
