Sure, there was something of value in the
Survivor: Samoa clip show last week, but I still don't like the fact that it wrecks momentum. Now, I'm trying to remember what happened a couple of weeks back. Oh, right, Laura getting eliminated, after a tie-break that almost didn't break, after John flipped his vote, after Shambo convinced him to do so. Right.
The past few weeks have been pretty big for the four remaining Foa Foa members. In theory, the merge should've rendered them dead weight, and Galu should've kicked them out. But, one thing, they're not really thinking logically. Also, Russell's control of his tribe mates have made the yellows a formidable voting block, forcing Galu to turn against one of their own, and then rendering their votes moot, and then making the most of a deadlock. The playing field is now a little more equal. Advantage, right?
Well, maybe not. It seems tonight's episode is the night when Foa Foa will no longer be a foursome. Just hours before Tribal Council, the yellows will plot a risky move that could result in the betrayal of one of their own. Then again, there are many possiblities: maybe Shambo is "one of their own" here, or maybe it's like Galu's plan a couple of weeks back that put John's game at risk.
Also, tonight is auction night, where the castaways get to bid for food that we take for granted here, but would kill to have after spending almost a month in the wild. I expect pizza and chicken and messages from home and a potentially valuable advantage in the game--and one of the castaways will choose to go hungry to get just that.
Survivor: Samoa returns to its regular groove tonight from 8pm on CBS.
