The 18 contestants competing on
Survivor this season were probably expecting beautiful ocean views, caves to sleep in, lush trees with fresh fruit to eat, and a beach to call home. No such luck for the 17th season of the reality competition. This year, they'll be competing in Gabon, Africa and the conditions will take some adjusting to. The premiere is only 10 days away and BuddyTV is taking a closer look at each contestant, courtesy of their introduction videos on CBS.com. We've met several contestants already, finding out where they're from and what their strategy will be this season. Today, we take a closer look at Susie, Charlie, and Randy. Read on and vote which of these 3 players will, in your opinion, do the best this season!
Don't be fooled by the sweet motherly side of
Susie, a 47 year old from Iowa. She'll stab you in the back if she has to in order to win that million dollar prize. "In real life, I'm not a very good liar at all," Susie says. "I think that, in this game, because I don't know these people very well yet - the only thing I know about these people is eye contact, I am starting to feel even a slight connection with them. They know where we're at, they know this is a game, and if I have to take that machete and stab it in your back, I'm gonna have to do that."
Charlie is a 29 year old corporate attorney from New York City and he's a huge
Survivor fan. In his video, he says that he's never missed a season and thinks it's a dream come true to be competing on the show. Charlie describes himself as fun and outgoing but also very driven. He admits to being middle of the road when it comes to physical prowess, intellectual ability, and social skills, which for him, will work out great in this game. "I think being almost the best, in all those criteria, will take me very far," he says. "I think you need to be a very well rounded player to win!"
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that
Randy is one of the older players this season. He's looking to form a solid alliance of 4 or 5 people and stay in the middle of the pack as long as he can. The 49 year old Montana resident defines himself as handsome and charming. Randy has had a lot of defining moments in his life but says that most of them are bad and he doesn't want to talk about them. He did share one, though. "One of the biggest positive defining moments was a month or so ago, when I found out that I was coming here," he says of Gabon, Africa. "It doesn't get much bigger than that!"
