Alicia Calaway Biography:
Alicia Calaway was born on May 1, 1968 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, from where she gained her Associate degrees in Applied Science. As an athlete, she received her certification from The National Academy of Sports Medicine and held the title “Ms. Connecticut Amateur Natural Bodybuilder” from the Amateur Athletic Union in 1994. Before she established a career in television as a broadcaster and host, Calaway worked as a computer graphics artist, aerobics instructor and personal trainer. Her other interests include cooking, entertaining and horseback riding.
Calaway’s athleticism benefited her well during her stint on the reality series, Survivor: The Australian Outback. As a member of the Kucha tribe, she found a friend in fellow tribe member, Jeff, but conflicted with another tribe member, Kimmi. She was fortunate enough to witness the tribe merger (Barramundi) but was finally voted off the competition on Day 24.
Calaway was asked to come back for the special season of the show, Survivor: All-Stars, where she made it all the way to Day 30, and again bore witness to the tribe merger (Chaboga Mogo). She finished in 7th place and was eliminated due to her physical strength, lack of alliances and irritating attitude.
