Last night on
Supernatural, Comic Book Guy caught onto Sam and Dean’s game and recognized them for what they really are: LARPers. Now that’s a word you don’t hear on television very often. Slash? Sure. Filk? Of course. Zines? All the time. But LARPing? Never.
As it turned out the answer was nowhere near that WorldCon. They simply had an experience we all have from time to time. They found an author who understood them so well it was though he could read their minds and they felt as though he were writing just for them.
Supernatural fans, feeling a similar closeness to their favorite show, joined us for some social time last night that no one would ever accuse of being geeky. They discussed the episode at our
Supernatural Twitter site. Like a proud parent hanging their kids’ crayon drawing of Grimace and the McDonald Land Friends in a spooky house on the family refrigerator, as usual we’ll now post the best.
Let's get the bad news out of the way. The next two weeks will be repeats. How will you fill the time?
Megaera529: Watching Supernatural reruns, of course, and my DVDs from previous seasons!
Little_Lotte:
Watch Jim Beaver on Harper's Island, which starts off next week
TeamCarissa: Watch old episodes with Katie Cassidy, the best ruby!
OperaDiva114: Whoa, whoa, whoa! I just saw your post about no new Supernatural for two weeks! What the eff?! I'll pass the time by crying!
This episode is so full of weird meta jokes. Are the best parts really when they cry?
JRadC: Yeah, but then I cry.
JessObsess: Well, the parts where they cry are always amazing, but I also enjoy when Sam and Dean are shirtless or bickering.
Riley_Devereaux:
The best parts are when they're naked!
The round of question and answer was then interrupted for a jaw dropping moment. Cue the Gossip Girl preview footage because it's O! M! F! G!
Seiscio: OMG! They mentioned Wincest!
Nolebucgrl: Absolutely hilarious commentary on the fangirls and the slash fiction. I died.
Winchesterlover: Did anyone else pick up on the Wincest reference? meta wow this cannot get any better. What next?
Anyway, Sam and Lilith having fiery demonic passion: Great idea or terrible idea?
Chelseagirl92: Hell yes! "Heart." Both of them cried, and they played "Silent Lucidity" by Queenryche. That was good TV right there.
JessObsess: I think that really depends on where it goes and what it's for, but, um, yuck. Interesting, though, can't deny that.
Jradc:
So beyond bad... for everyone.
The Winchester Gospel is the new New Testament. Is that great, or an M. Night level of douchiness?
OperaDiva114: Holy prophets, Batman
! Now that's a doozy! Prophet of the Lord?! Intense!
Chelseagirl92: I was expecting Stephen-King-Dark-Tower-self-insert-level douchiness. But it was handled well, and actually kinda works.
Soraimya: I would say douchiness if it weren't Supernatural, but since it is i think they can still flesh it out to make it believable.
ToneDeafSean:
The Winchester Gospels? Thats a little much.
Uh oh. How bad is the ending Chuck saw for the boys?
Seiscio:
Oh this is bad bad bad. Wowzerz! And Zachariah doesn't want them to know.
BoxedJess: That was such an evil ending. I'm so anxious for the rest of this season!
Darynar: Even the archangel coming for Lilith wasn't written so the prophecy can change.
AshPatt: I'm actually really nervous about how all of this is going to turn out...especially with season finale's title.
When a new character was shown introducing themselves as Sam and Dean's brother in the preview for next week's episode we didn't have to ask.
Winchesterlover: WTF?! A NEW BROTHER?! WTF?! WTF?! WTF?!
In the words of Shaggy from Scooby Doo: Yoinks! And the show is off the air for two weeks? Next you're going to tell me that LARPing has been canceled and there's no new fan fiction to read. Now that's horror. To pass the time join in the fun at our Supernatural Twitter page, share your thoughts, get new articles, play games, enter contests and, as always, share your brilliant thoughts so we can stick them under a giant magnet of the letter Q for everyone to appreciate.
