After last night's
Supernatural there's no need for end of the world predictions. The Hellmouth is open. Armageddon is coming next season on
Supernatural. Well, unless, of course, Sam and Dean can prevent it.
But wait, I'm getting ahead of myself. Last night at 9pm you didn't know any of that. Sam was coming from the north, Dean from the south, Lilith was in the middle and it wasn't at all clear what would happen if the brothers got in each others' way. The Angels were thought to be carrying out God's agenda, whatever that was. Anything could happen, and it would.
Our readers congregated in the usual spot to react to record their reactions - their predictions, their moments of surprise, excitement and disapproval.
Before the episode, we got the ball rolling by asking for your predictions. Will Sam and Dean try to kill one another?
BoxedJess: It might be badass. To be honest, I can pretty much roll with anything this show does. Even if it's sad.
Elladen_E: I doubt they will, but I think it would be great if they did. Interesting to have an "enemy" who knows you so well.
VixenScallywag: I think Sammy goes all demon, and Dean goes all Angel and we get one bad ass fight scene. I also believe Cas will stop it.
Kiltweaver: Oh man! Its gonna be a good one. You just know Eric is gonna screw with us big time!
Kitty_Vox: They may have hurt each other out of blinded rage, but kill? Much less try? I think they would rather kill themselves. Seeing as how each was willing to go to hell for the other, it's hard to imagine them gunning at each other's throat.
Judy71: I have faith that the love they have for each other will trump all that is going on. no attempt to kill one another.
Magoghair: My theory is no, just because it would be too expected.
MaruVR: I hate it when professional writers come up with ideas that I could come up with. I want to be entertained/surprised.
Then the episode began.
Bobby thinks Dean is more of a man than John Winchester ever was. Agree or disagree?Danioliveiras: Disagree!
AlanahC: Agree. Hands down. Final answer. Raise you fifty. Bam.
SupernaturalAmy: Fo shizzle! And he's right!
LoveHateApathy: I agree that Dean is a better man than John. They both have/had their faults, but Dean's truest fault and weakness is Sam.
OperaDiva114: 100%. John loved his boys, but he was a coward. And knowing he had that "other" family proves his cowardice.
Krevenge: I think Dean is, but we've seen more of Dean and Sam's relationship than we ever saw of Sam and John's.
JordyVix: I think they are basically the same person.
What's more shocking, that Azazel is Lucifer's son and orchestrated all these events or that Dean's mission is to defeat Lucifer?DramaDiva1007: Neither. I think we knew all along that he had an endgame and I think we knew all along what Dean's part would be.
MegaEra529: I actually said, out loud, "WOW!" I never saw that coming. I thought it was going to be Sam spilling innocent blood.
OperaDiva114: I'm more shocked about Dean's mission. The angels really lied about all that? And are doing NOTHING for humans? :-O
Prchrzdtr: Is it just me or does nothing that they do actually shock us anymore? I know to expect anything from Kripke nowadays!
Spnep4ever: I'd have to say the whole Azazel deal, since that ties so much together. The Dean deal's been theorized a lot.
Lilith is the final Seal - predictable or a shocking plot twist?ChuckWho45701: Now it's all in the crapper. Lillth is dead. NOW WHAT?
Kidtsunehi13: Predictable all da way.
MegaEra529: Holy crap!
04steff04: Predictable. How can ya trust a demon? That's the question
Nolebucgrl: Predictable but still cool. Cooler? Seeing Ruby bite it via Dean's hand with Sam's assist. Die evil b*tch!
JessObsess: I'm a bit busy cursing Kripke for his cliffhangers, so I'll only say this: Not TOO shocking, but they played it out well.
Oh crap, Lucifer is coming. Did you see that Ruby twist coming? And how painful will it be to wait until September to see what comes up?JimmySlaveGirl: Absolutely thrilling. The thought had occurred to me but how they did it... they got me. I'm a frazzled mess after that!
MegaEra529: I totally saw the Ruby twist coming . . . a whole 15 minutes before the episode ended. But still, I saw it coming!
AmorVincentOmnia: The wait until season 5 will be horrible!! Never so happy to see a B**** ganked!
SpnEp4ever: I knew it. At the very least, it was pretty much known by 4.18 when she said she wasn't going to live through it.
JaredKelly: It will be like in HELL until September!!! I'm glad uncle Bobby is alive but where the hell is he??
Lautnergrl: I can't wait until September. Season 5 now!!!!
Thank you to all of the fans who have made our experience of watching
Supernatural even better. Thursday nights have always been our favorite night of the week. But the actual show is only half the fun. Getting to sharing it with great, smart, passionate fans like you makes the whole experience sweeter and carries the excitement over into Friday and throughout the week. I can't wait for season five next year, but with friends you can always enjoy
Supernatural. We'll be here on BuddyTV, Supernatural TV and Supernatural Twitter all summer to join in the discussion. I hope you'll continue to be a part of it.
What are you going to do over the summer? Is there a show you think might help tide you over? Or are you going to subsist on
Supernatural DVDs alone? Also, what would you like to see us cover over the summer?
