Back in the present, the Winchesters talk to the shrink about Anna, who used to be a nice, normal journalism major before she started raving about monsters and mayhem. She even sketched drawings about Samhain and the rising of the witnesses, proving that she's been paying close attention to season 4 of Supernatural
. The boys make a visit to Anna's parents' house for more information, but crafty demons have already slaughtered them. After taking a look at one of Anna's sketches, they determine that she might be hiding at the local church.
The boys find Anna at the church and are surprised to learn that she recognizes them. She knows all about Dean's angelic resurrection, and she also knows that the heavenly beings aren't very fond of Sam. She's been overhearing the conversations of the angels for months, and there's absolutely no way for her to tune them out. The first thing she heard after dialing into 1-900-ANGEL? "Dean Winchester is saved."
Ruby and her questionable acting skills arrive at the church, warning the boys that a big-time demon has been following them. A statue of the Virgin Mary starts bleeding from the eyes, and a moment later Alastair walks into the room. Sam (Jared Padalecki
) tries to work his smoke-sucking mojo on him, but old Alastair merely gets a tickle in his throat and tosses Sammy down the stairs. Dean recognizes the demon from his time in Hell, but before he can fill us in on their meet-cute story Sam pops up and stabs him with Ruby's knife. It has no effect, so the brothers jump out the window, fleeing the scene while Ruby rescues Anna.
