Born on March 1, 1978 in Dallas, Texas, Jensen Ackles studied at Dartmouth Elementary School and Lloyd V. Berkner High School. He planned to become a physical therapist prior to becoming an actor. Initially, he modeled on and off as a child and then eventually landed guest roles on television shows like Mr. Rhodes, Cybill and Sweet Valley High. This was followed by his inclusion in the soap opera Days of Our Lives where he won a Soap Opera Digest Award for Best male Newcomer in 1998 for his portrayal of the character Eric Brady. Subsequently, he was also nominated three times for a Daytime Emmy award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series.
