Freeform struck gold with their adaptation of Sara Shepard's bestselling series Pretty Little Liars
, starring Shay Mitchell. Now the creator I. Marlene King and Mitchell look forward to teaming up with ABC on another Shepard franchise, The Heiresses
. This is not to be confused with the PLL spinoff
, although the plot is quite similar. A well-off family suffers great loss due to a deadly crash which drove cousins apart. A new tragedy brings them together as they work to solve the mystery before they meet their own demises. Perhaps familiar, but undoubtedly a successful team with lots of potential for more great television.
