Biography

Comedian and actor Nathan Corddry—sometimes known as Nate Corddry—was born on September 8, 1977 in Weymouth, Massachusetts. After graduating from Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire, where he majored in communications, he began pursing an acting career.

Although his earliest appearances were in sketches for Late Night with Conan O’Brien and episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent and daytime drama Guiding Light, Corddry became known as a correspondent for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. His older brother, Rob Corddry, began work on the show in 2003; he followed two years later, and presented several segments. At one point, he even performed with his brother, staging a mock debate on Big Brother which would later descend to a fight. In between, he was part of the national tour for the play The Graduate.

Corddry next appeared on the short-lived series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. He appeared on the series as Tom Jeter, one of the stars of an eponymous show-within-a-show that the series centered on; despite his success in impressions and sketches, he is self-critical and is often anxious of what others have to say about his performances. Despite critical acclaim, the series slumped in the ratings and was cancelled after one season. Most recently, he took a role in the Showtime series The United States of Tara, which premiered in January 2009.

Corddry has also appeared in several films, notably Suburban Girl, The Nanny Diaries and Morning Departure.
