Stargate Atlantis is a science fiction series which is a spin-off from the series Stargate SG-1, focusing on the discovery of the location of the lost city of Atlantis. The show features an independent story that also contributes to the larger storyline of the war against Wraith and their quest to destroy their enemies.

Each episode of Stargate Atlantis stars with a cold open which is followed by a recap of events relevant to the upcoming plot.
