Joe Flanigan is one of Hollywood’s exceptional actors. He exudes a welcoming persona yet he has a very manly presence. A natural attention-grabber, he harmoniously integrates fierceness and tranquility in his portrayal of character roles whether on television, film or in theater. His almost perfect body is just one of the reasons why swarms of fans arise from different parts of the world. At present, he stars on the television series
Stargate Atlantic.
Born on January 5, 1967 in Los Angeles, California, Joe Flanigan started acting in school productions. He attended the University of Colorado where he studied history. Initially, he pursued a career in writing and worked for a number of New York City magazines for a short span of time. Eventually, he trained at the Neighborhood Playhouse and pursued acting professionally. He landed television guest roles on
Profiler, First Monday, Dawson’s Creek, Murphy Brown, and
Judging Amy among others. In addition, she also worked in films like
Surgical Strike, A Reason to Believe, Tell Me No Secrets, The Other Sister, Farewell to Harry and
Silent Men.
Flanigan plays Lt. Colonel John Sheppard on the sci-fi series
Stargate Atlantis. As an air force officer of the Stargate team, he gives the plot intrigue and enthusiasm. His rough and rugged, yet pleasurably tidy image, is one of the reasons why the show remains to be a blast.
