Canadian actor William Shatner was born on March 22, 1931 in Montreal, Quebec. He is a well-known pop culture icon for his portrayal of Captain James T. Kirk in the original Star Trek series, as well as having penned a number of original novels for the Star Trek franchise. Shatner also starred as the title character of the police drama T.J. Hooker in during the 80s, and currently appears in the award-winning television series
Boston Legal . Aside from acting, he has also worked as a director, a producer, and a musician. He has won Emmy and Golden Globe Awards for his achievements.
James T. Kirk is played by William Shatner in the sci-fi cult classic series Star Trek. One of the most famous captains of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701), he was born on Earth, though he also lived for a time on the planet Tarsus IV. He was a renowned graduate of Starfleet Academy, becoming the first person in the academy’s history to overcome the normally impossible Kobayashi Maru simulator scenario, and being commended for his original thinking. He later went on to serve as an ensign aboard the USS Republic and a lieutenant on the USS Farragut, before finally being promoted to captain of the Enterprise.
