Sons of Anarchy opened season 5 with several brutal deaths at the hands of Damon Pope. In "Authority Vested" SAMCRO is left to deal with the aftermath.

It was not enough retribution for Pope to burn Tig's daughter to death, the Sons are now number one on his hit list. He wants the club to bleed, though, his hurt is so deep that that probably won't be enough to satisfy his rage.

While Jax and Chibs are hiding out from the law after being framed by Pope, they need to get their affairs in order before turning themselves in. I've enjoyed watching Jax and Chibs get closer and that looks to continue this season. If, a big if, they both get out of prison alive.

Before turning himself in, Jax tells a few people about the RICO case being held over SAMCRO to try and get it destroyed and free the club from the CIA. Though, he also uses the CIA's need for SAMCRO's gun deals to try and leverage protection in prison or to get them freed.

Gemma's drunken one-night stand looks to be on the path of becoming more. Nero welcomes Jax, Chibs, and Bobby without a thought to hide out at his place. Throughout the episode, he helps them and shares a bonding moment with Jax. He is much more than just a "companionator."

Outside of SAMCRO's problems, the city of Charming is dealing with the outbreak of violent home invasions, including at Gemma's house. Unser does not take his beating lightly and takes it into his own hands.

A few Sons of Anarchy spoilers from "Authority Vested": Jax and Tara make a decision about their relationship, while excluding Gemma. Despite all the Opie has lost due to the club, he makes a huge sacrifice for Jax.

Check out the trailer for tonight's episode and season 5.
