When Sons of Anarchy returns for season 6, Jax will have his hands full dealing with Tara's arrest and issues with SAMCRO. Executive Producer Kurt Sutter sat down with reporters during San Diego Comic-Con to discuss what fans can expect to see this upcoming season.

Sons of Anarchy is available on Amazon Prime.

Check out the full video interview with Kurt Sutter.

Highlights from the interview:

  • The premiere picks up 3-5 days after the season 5 finale. Sutter wanted a few days to have passed in order for the events to take hold emotionally. "How does Tara being arrested affect Jax? How does Clay going inside to ultimately meet his doom -- as we set it up -- what does that look like?"
  • Jax will be dealing with threats within himself. And, the club will be dealing external threats coming down on them. There won't be as much conflict this season internally between club members.
  • Jax will have to deal with the ramifications of what he's done. And, it will be an internal struggle for him.
  • Gemma and Nero's relationship will continue to grow. It may be dysfunctional. "I think Gemma's the person that when she decides to love somebody, she loves them big. And, Nero's become that guy for her."
  • "If there are any hopeful themes on my show that might be one of them. Is seeing that relationship navigating these waters."
  • By the end of last season, Jax has come to terms with his mother and Nero's relationship.
  • The execution of Pope will continue to play out this season. Jax will have a continuing relationship with August. And, Pope's death "will continue to "fuel the Clay storyline all season. And, in terms of what it means for Tig and who will find out the truth. It's all weaved in there."
  • Jax wanting to get out of the club was the dream. Ultimately, Jax was never going to leave the club. He would have found a reason to stay in.
  • This season will be about whether Jax can have it all or not. Can he move the club more legit? Can he be a good father? Husband? Can he succeed where his father didn't? Will they quit the guns and go legit? "Does he have the fortitude to do it better than his father."
  • Clay will be in prison. There won't be a magical reprieve. In episode 10, he's still inside.
  • Tara will be getting out of prison. They will play the reality of her situation. There are complications for her inside. Then, she's go on trial for the murder.

Are you ready for the Sons of Anarchy premiere? Do you think Clay will live or die? And, how will Jax deal with Tara's legal woes?

Sons of Anarchy season 6 premieres on Tuesday, September 10 at 10 pm ET on FX.
