What You Might See on 'So You Think You Can Dance': Top 8 Week
This season of So You Think You Can Dance is shaping up to be a really, really weird one. I've pointed out some of the reasons earlier--problematic scheduling, lack of public voting--and then, suddenly, next week being a top 6 finale rather than a top 4 finale is rearing its (slightly?) ugly head. If I don't feel disoriented enough by the visuals on the new set, I might as well pop a couple of migraine pills to stop the madness.

And then there's the injury curse. Noelle got injured, Mollee got injured, and now, Ellenore got injured. So, that means, yes, you most probably already know about at least one pair-up: her and Legacy doing a Travis routine and a Nappy Tabs routine. Well, you probably know about the other performances in tonight's performance show if you've been lurking around the forums. Fine, I'll repeat all of them anyway. As always, these deets are from the folks over at SYTYCDism, and are arranged in alphabetical order, with my thoughts right below them.

Ashleigh and Russell: Hip-hop (Shane Sparks) and Bollywood (Nakul Dev Majahan)
Ahh, Russell doing hip-hop. I'm not worried about that first routine, because these two haven't really done any wrong so far. I'm a little bit worried about the Bollywood bit, though--not that I don't trust them, but I honestly can't imagine them doing that genre. That said, I'm guessing Russell will come out of this alive, and Ashleigh might be in some trouble.

Ellenore and Legacy: Contemporary (Travis Wall) and hip-hop (Tabitha and Napoleon)
Now, this is interesting. Ellenore, as we all know, suffered an injury, which meant both she and Legacy weren't able to rehearse as much as they should. Too bad, because they would've done really well on both these routines (not to mention that all Travis routines so far have been magical). While we won't be able to see both--and especially Ellenore--in full force, I trust they'll stick around for the finale. I mean, look at what they've done before!

Kathryn and Ryan: Disco (Doriana Sanchez) and cha-cha (Jason Gilkison)
Ryan's got a lot to do after being in the bottom three last week. Cha-cha sounds safe, but the disco is another problem. He will look awkward in this. He absolutely will. Maybe it's my vivid imagination, but I don't think he'd be able to look energetic and fluid at the same time. Kathryn's quite a sleeper hit, so I can't really guess if she'll come out of this alive... but maybe not.

Mollee and Jakob: Broadway (Joey Dowling) and Viennese waltz (Jason Gilkison)
Mollee's adventures in Maturity Land (I know, bad name) continue with her pair-up to Jakob, which should be interesting. Her routines this week could work in her favor, though: the Broadway routine should go along the lines of the fun-slash-controlled attitude of her jive last week, and she's already proven herself in ballroom. Jakob? I think that goes without saying.

As always, the small details can change, but I trust they won't. I suggest we pour our energies into voting, and then, into prepping ourselves for a finale that's fortified with 50% more finalists... and, possibly a return for last season's winner Jeanine Mason. But duh.
