The first video features the performance from belly dancer Janelle Issis.



They may be gaudy and ostentations, but I don't think I'll ever not like the giant gold wings. Really, belly dancers get the best costumes. Much better than the sweats and plain underwear favored by the contemporary dancers anyway...

Janelle is one of the 35 dancers still in contention for a place in the So You Think You Can Dance season 9 Top 20, so we'll definitely be seeing more of her (however briefly). The same cannot be said for the subject of the next video, Hampton "The Exorcist" Williams.



I think I liked his initial audition better than this one. But I'm not a professional dancer or choreographer, so perhaps I'm missing something. Since I did not burst into tears watching this performance, I think I must have missed something.

It really is too bad that this guy has never even tried to learn choreography and was therefore completely lost in the first Vegas rounds. Oh well.

Despite the criticism that followed from the judges, at least some of these dancers in the "Wolf Pack" group dance had better luck.



Do you think the girls packed matching jackets? Did they buy them? Did one girl have two identical denim jackets in her suitcase? Thus, the mysteries of So You Think You Can Dance.

The final video shows what was probably the most praised of the group dances in Las Vegas, the "Prom" dance.



I have to say this isn't like any prom I've ever attended. But I didn't attend prom with professional dancers. That can make all the difference.
