It was a spectacular night of performances when the So You Think You Can Dance top 20 dancers hit the stage to perform live for your votes.  They were each matched with another dancer in their same style, which was interesting. The three guys and girls who receive the lowest numbers of votes will be in danger of going home next week.

Since next time two dancers will be eliminated, let's try and figure out what the So You Think You Can Dance future holds for your favorite dancer.

The Best of the Night:

Hands down, the best routine of the night was the dark Sonya Tayeh contemporary number performed by Jessica Richens and Ricky Ubeda. Their breathtaking performance highlighted their physical strength, grace, and their connection. The musical selection for the piece was hushed and spare, and you could almost hear a pin drop, which is unusual for the enthusiastic crowd.  It seems as if everyone knew they were seeing something special. Nigel even called it one of the best performances he has ever seen.

I also think that Malene Ostergaard and Marcquet Hill's samba was another stand-out routine. It was spicy, sexy, and emphasized the dancers' connection and energy. I enjoyed the tap routine performed by Valerie Rockey and Zack Everhart, Jr. It employed the use of stairs during the dance, and Valerie and Zack seemed to almost glide across the steps. It was fun and energetic.

Who is in Danger?

While there were no truly bad performances, there were a few that didn't seem to catch fire. Brooklyn Fullmer and Serge Onik performed a cha-cha that featured fast footwork, but seemed to show their lack of connection and some jitters. I think that a lack of connection also plagued Tanisha Belnap and Nick Garcia's cha-cha. Jourdan Epstein and Jacque LeWarne performed a traditional ballet routine that was lovely. Nigel, however, criticized their technique. I do think that their performance may be overshadowed by other more flashy routines.

I think that any of these couples may be lacking in viewer support, and may be in danger of being eliminated. Next week we will see which So You Think You Can Dance dancers will continue on in the competition.
