We're one week away from the So You Think You Can Dance season 6 finale and it's time for the Top 8 to prove why they've earned a spot. Of course, we have some pretty strong opinions on who is finale bound. However, a late season injury to a fan and judge favorite could put everything we thought we knew up in the air tonight.

Of course, there's only one way to fix this, watching the Top 8 perform live with me right here. Follow along with me as we watch four brand new couples take the stage and be sure to keep up with me in my 140 character quips on Twitter.

Alright Top 8, let's go! Time to wow us all, I fully expect with the growing momentum of the past couple weeks I will. Sadly, Cat's fashion momentum may have come to a screeching halt tonight via what appears to be a belted metallic trench coat mini dress.

Ellenore does seem to be favoring one her arms during the solo intros, we'll have to see how her injury affects her performance tonight. Purported partner Legacy looks awfully nervous during his solo too... this injury can decide his fate as well. And curious, Ashleigh doesn't perform a solo, what is that about?

OH NO Cat's metallic mini isn't a trench, it is a romper, with shorts. We have figured it out America, something that Cat's charming personality, accent, and mile long legs cannot make up for and it is a belted shorts outfit.

Oh my goodness, have we been tricked? Ashleigh comes out with a sling on, not Ellenore. Apparently Ashleigh dislocated her shoulder during practice before the show was taped, but she hasn't been approved by the doctor. She says she is ready to dance, but the doctor isn't. Ashleigh says she hopes she has a chance to come out and dance tonight. So what does that mean for her partner the apparently cursed Russell?

Ryan and Kathryn - Disco
Choreographer: Doriana Sanchez
Song: "Last Dance" remixed by Samantha Ronson

Ryan is very excited for a disco, and he should be, those arms are built for disco lifts! Kathryn on the other hand is a wee bit nervous for the crazy disco lifts, and we don't blame her.

Holy bedazzler kids! The costumes tonight are all sequins, apparently so Cat's romper doesn't feel lonely.

discoball.jpgKathryn and Ryan are a cute pairing and they are both definitely going all out. Disco dancing for their lives! Ryan is a disco king and he's really committing to the moves and dancing with abandon. Dare I say he's outshining Kathryn, which I can't say many of her partners have done before. The couple have some synchronicity issues at the end, but all in all that was a solid disco routine and a fun way to start the show.

Judges Say:
Adam thought that Ryan proved that real men can wear sequences. He thought the style was beautifully suited for the couple and that Kathryn could not look more beautiful in all sequins. Mary thinks if Kathryn and Ryan can dance like that again it won't be their last dance. She thinks that Kathryn is peaking at the right time. Nigel thought Ryan was stiff and a bit too ballroom...hmmm, were we watching the same routine? He thinks his arms were too stiff but Mary says that's authentic of the time period.

Molle and Jakob - Viennese Waltz
Choreographer: Jason Gilkinson
Song: "Ordinary Day" by Vanessa Carlton

Mollee looks like a 40's glamour goddess on a weekend date in Rome with her prince charming. She's showing the continued maturity that we witnessed last week. This waltz is a bit faster than your average Viennese Waltz and neither Jakob or Mollee look confident in the transitions or the movement at the beginning of the routine, as it goes on they ease into the flow of the waltz. Yet again the choreographers put in some unnecessary leaps (a jete) to show of Jakob's talents. Mollee's extension is lovely, Jakob's partnering work is getting stronger and his lines are still lovely. But something about the two never gelled completely the way I wish they did. It was beautiful and subdued, technically strong, especially for two dancers outside of their genre, but I'm just not sure folks will call in for it.

Judges Say:

Adam could have watched it for two more hours. He says he feels like a broken record by saying that Jakob is one of the most brilliant dancers he's ever seen and that Mollee is peaking at the right time. Mary is getting a bit teary about the beauty of the Waltz. Nigel thought the choreography was beautiful and for him it was jaw dropping. Nigel also acknowledges our hatred for the big screen saying it looked just right in that routine.
