During a press conference this morning Nigel Lythgoe revealed just how season 7 of
So You Think You Can Dance will function with the three major announcements he's recently made on Twitter. If you were scratching your head just how
eliminating one dancer a week, having
new partners every week and
no Top 20 would work, we now have an answer for you, sort of.
Instead of a Top 20 and set partners this season,
So You Think You Can Dance will feature a Top 10. Only 10 dancers you say? Won't that be a super short season? Nope. That Top 10 will be paired with all-star partners from past seasons of
So You Think You Can Dance. The All-Stars will be comprised of finalists from former seasons who are "skilled in various styles of dance, including ballroom, hip hop, jazz and contemporary." While we don't know who the all-stars are, FOX promises they'll be announced shortly.
Season 7 with all its shake-ups premieres on May 27th with a
two-hour special. What do you think of the changes to season 7? Will it
improve the show or ruin what you loved about it in the first place?
And most importantly, what all-stars do you hope will return to the
stage as "professional partners?" We have some suggestions:
