So You Think You Can Dance is changing a lot this year, and it can be hard to keep track of exactly how it's all going to work. Check out this video and tip sheet in order to figure out how exactly this second competition week of So You Think You Can Dance season 9 will go.

First of all, if you're the type who likes your information via multimedia, we have a video from FOX that covers at least the basics of tonight's show. Check it out below.

Got all that?

For those of you who prefer a more textual description, this is (as far as I can tell anyway) how it's all going to work.

  • The 20 So You Think You Can Dance season 9 competitors will perform their second dances.
  • After all of the dancing has been completed, the judges will announce which dancers received the lowest number of votes.
  • Since it is individuals and not couples on the chopping block this season, some couples may be split right away.
  • I haven't seen it announced, but my guess is that there will be the standard six performers in the bottom (the equivalent of previous seasons' bottom-three couples).
  • Those six (or whatever) performers will dance for their lives in front of the judges.
  • In this first week (and presumably only in this first week) of competition, the judges will select four dancers to be sent home.
  • This procedure is likely to repeat throughout the rest of the So You Think You Can Dance season 9 competition, the only change being the number of dancers eliminated. Those in the bottom will always have to dance for a second time before they find out that they are in danger.

Except that I know these competitors all absolutely love dancing, it almost seems mean. But you have to imagine that it's more about getting the chance to dance again and again for them.

Which dancers will be the first eliminated? I have no clue. Do you have any guesses, based on preferences and those week 1 dances? Vote in our poll and leave your comments below!
