In Vegas, the judges questioned
Katee Shean’s passion for dance, after she said that she wouldn’t return if she didn’t make the Top 20 this season on
So You Think You Can Dance. Judge and choreographer Mia Michaels said she couldn’t envision working with someone who would give up at the young age of 20. Still, they put her through and if anyone had any doubt that Katee wasn’t passionate about dance, it was squashed in the first moments of her first week in the Top 20. Katee and
Josh broke away from the pack with an amazing hip hop routine choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon D’Umo and haven’t looked back since.
This week, Katee and Josh teamed up with Mia Michaels for a contemporary routine about two selfish people, focused only on their path in life. I can’t say that I would have ever figured that out if I didn’t see the video beforehand but I still loved the routine. Josh and Katee dance effortlessly, with a ton of passion and chemistry, and leave it all out on the dance floor week after week. Though it’s safe to say that every dancer in the Top 14 is passionate about dance, they can’t touch Josh and Katee. These two are in it to win it and have every right to sail straight through to the finale.
On last night’s episode, each duo performed routines giving them two chances to impress the judges. Standout performances came from
Chelsie and
Mark (jazz and foxtrot),
Kherington and
Twitch (contemporary),
William and
Jessica (lyrical jazz), and
Courtney and
Gev (hip hop) - but that one was mostly because of my girl, Courtney. I think
Thayne and
Comfort will, without a doubt, find themselves in the bottom again tonight. I also think both of them will go home. Before the judges hand down that decision, I think that Jessica and Will and Matt and Kourtni will dance for their lives along with Thayne and Comfort. If somehow Will and Jessica escape unscathed, Courtney and Gev will unfortunately be there instead.
