Well, we are heading into the home stretch, So You Think You Can Dance fans! This week the top six dancers will perform with some of our favorite All-Stars as they try to dance their way to the finale. Who will win accolades this time?

I must admit I was a bit shocked by the elimination of Rudy Abreu and Tanisha Belnap last week. I was especially surprised that Tanisha was sent home. This week we also will enjoy a musical performance from Rixton of their single “Me and My Broken Heart.”

Is your favorite dancer still in the So You Think You Can Dance competition? Who will move forward, and who will go home?

Buckle up, folks. This is the So You Think You Can Dance live blog!

We start off with a group routine featuring the top six dancers: Jessica Richens, Valerie Rockey, Jacque LeWarne, Casey Askew, Ricky Ubeda, and Zack Everhart, Jr. It is a creepy hip-hop number choreographed by Nick Demoura with the dancers dressed sort of like skeletons. I really like it.

And now, let’s give a big welcome to our JUDGES! Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy are joined at the judges’ table by dancer and actress Christine Applegate, who also happens to be one of my favorite judges!

The dancers will each dance three times to win your votes. Can you say “exhaustion?” I am winded just thinking about it. Also, make a note that this week’s votes will be combined with next week’s votes to determine who will win the season 11 title.

Valerie Rockey and Ricky Ubeda

Broadway choreographed by Spencer Liff

They are back together, baby! This piece is heavy on charm and personality. Ricky actually pushed Valerie on a swing onstage, which is kind of cool. The routine is sweet and absolutely adorable. Nigel thinks that either member of this duo would shine on Broadway. Christina thinks that either Ricky or Valerie could win.

Jessica Richens and Casey Askew
Disco choreographed by Doriana Sanchez

I am not normally a huge disco fan, but I this number has given me disco fever. It is fun, steamy, and super quick. Mary gives them both raves. Nigel cops to having a swinging ’70’s ensemble like Casey was wearing. Yikes! He also thinks that the pair coped well with the routine.

Solo-Ricky

Ricky’s mother and grandmother tell Ricky how proud they are of him and his positive outlook. His solo capitalizes on his athleticism and incredible technique.

Jacque LeWarne and Zack Everhart, Jr.
Foxtrot choreographed by Jean-Marc Genereux

I love seeing all the couples reunited with their former partners. The connection between Jacque and Zack is great during this foxtrot. Mary feels that some of the routine was “rough around the edges,” especially the glides. Nigel feels that this number won’t win them any votes, and calls it “herky jerky.” Ouch!

Solo-Jessica

Jessica’s parents praise her “it” factor and say how proud they are of her. Her solo is fun and again emphasize her personality and stage presence.

And Now for Something Completely Different

Rixton hits the stage for a performance of “Me and My Broken Heart.”

Valerie Rockey and All-Star Stephen “tWitch” Boss
Hip-Hop choreographed by Willdabeast

Is it a match made in heaven for this couple? We will find out as they portray a couple that has just tied the knot. This is my favorite performance of the night! Valerie more than held her own against tWitch, and she demonstrated some serious swag. She even danced on top of a table. Nigel compliments Valerie’s performance quality and Mary calls Valerie “swagerocious.” (Yes, she really did.)

Solo-Casey

Casey’s parents feel lucky that they can watch their child fulfill his dreams. Casey’s solo highlights his athleticism and his incredible spins.

Solo-Valerie

Valerie’s parents praise her quick feet and let her know her hometown is pulling for her. Valerie’s brothers even get in on the act. Her solo is fun and fresh.

The 25 Best Dances from Dancing with the Stars Season 18 >>>

Jacque LeWarne and All-Star Will Wingfield

Contemporary choreographed by Sean Cheesman

This piece is about first love and also features a big ball as a prop. This performance is great. I don’t know how they are sliding and dancing against the ball. Christina tells Jacque that the performance was “joyous” and Nigel calls it “brilliant” and say that he has forgotten about the foxtrot.

Solo-Zack

Zack’s parents are inspired by his passion for dance and his success. His solo is kind of groovy and shows off some amazing slides.

Jessica Richens and All-Star Ade Obayomi
Jazz choreographed by Ray Leeper

This number is set in a Tokyo club. I have three words for you: fringed neon leg-warmers. Wow! I have to say this is not one of my favorite performances this week. It is sort of odd and the dancers feel disconnected to me. Mary states that she thinks Jessica is heading for the finale and compliments her focus. Nigel didn’t connect with either Jessica or the number. Nigel also calls her out on her solo and tells her that she needs to incorporate other material if she wants to get votes.

Solo-Jacque

Jacque’s parents let her know that she possesses something special that shines through her dancing.  She performs her solo in a military-style dress. I really enjoy seeing something a little different in a solo performance.

Ricky Ubeda and All-Star Anya Garnis
Cha-Cha choreographed by Jean-Marc Genereux

Another great performance from Ricky in this spicy cha-cha. He also has great chemistry with Anya. Christina points out that Ricky kept her attention, rather than Anya. Mary says that Ricky “brought it.”

Casey Askew and All-Star Makenzie Dustman
Contemporary choreographed by Stacey Tookey

Tookey’s emotional number is about what you would do if only had one day left with the person that you love. This performance was fantastic. Mary comments that this is Casey’s best dance this season. Nigel praises Casey’s ability to continue growing.

Zack Everhart, Jr. and All-Star Fik-Shun
Hip-Hop choreographed by Phillip Chbeeb

Zack and Fik-Shun are supposed to be parts of an ink blot test and they make shapes with their bodies. I had a tough time getting into this performance. Mary calls the dance “fabulous” and tells Zack that he has been the best surprise this season. Nigel also compliments Zack’s versatility.
