I, like many viewers out there, was a little skeptical when I saw
Josh and
Katee pull Bollywood from the hat for the last performance last night on
So You Think You Can Dance. A) I didn't know if they could pull it off and B) I wasn't sure what to expect. What resulted was a beautiful display of world dance, expertly choreographed by Nakul Dev Mahajan. As the judges said, the Bollywood style incorporates many different styles of dance from Hip Hop to African to Russian. Because it was the first of its kind for the show, and because it was danced by Josh and Katee, this routine will go down as one of the season's most memorable and will definitely end up on the tour. Tonight's Top 10 will be announced, the lucky group that gets to head out on the national tour, and without a doubt, Josh and Katee will be there.
Another couple who should have no problem making it into the Top 10 are
Kherington and
Twitch but what was her deal last night? Coming off of Vegas, I wasn't so impressed with her but she has performed this season with such a fire and passion that I can't help but root for her. Last night, though, that fire went out and she seemed to give up halfway through her krump routine. Her face went dead, her moves seemed labored, and she just didn't look like she was enjoying herself. Their tango wasn't any better and I was definitely expecting more from them.
One of the best routines of last night, and the entire season, was
Will and
Jessica's contemporary routine, choreographed by Tyce DiOrio. Both were in it to win and held their own during their breathtaking routine, which took place in the Garden of Eden. When they came back for their second routine, though, the judges were right back to cutting Jessica down. They all said that Will carried her through this competition and Mia said that she was sure he was tired of carrying his team. Will refused to get negative and said that this has been a great experience, once where he and his partner have learned a lot. Smart move, Will.
It will be no surprise tonight, to anyone, when Comfort and Thayne go home. It's very clear who the judges want to see get on tour and I can't imagine them sending anybody else home except them. It wouldn't surprise me to see Courtney and Gev in the bottom again, despite having two great routines last night. The third couple in the bottom is tough to call because it could certainly be Will and Jessica but perhaps, Kherington and Twitch may find themselves there for the first time. The only two couples, in my mind, that are sure to sail through are Chelsie and Mark and Josh and Katee.
Do you think Comfort and Thayne are going home tonight?
