So You Think You Can Dance: Finale Live Thoughts
Dance fans, are you ready?  Millions of votes came in last night to crown the winner of season three's So You Think You Can Dance.  Will it be Lacey?  Sabra?  Danny?  Neil?  I have absolutely no clue.  It seems like it's a wide open playing field.  Everybody has their favorite and the four all had strong performances on last night's show.  The night will be filled with live performances from the dancers as well as some hot musical acts.  You can try to guess how it's all going to end but I'm sure there's going to be surprises along the way.  I'll be updating live throughout the two hour season finale tonight so let's go!

The show has started and Cat announced that sixteen million votes came in for the finale.  Impressive!  The entire top twenty are there and I'm so happy!  I loved the dancers this season.  Cat just came out and I'm not loving that dress, anyone else?  All the judges are there and we'll be looking forward to seeing Cat and Nigel dance together later on in the show.

Paula Abdul is in the audience.  Was it me or did she look like she was crying?  Nigel updates us on Claire Calloway, the dancer who couldn't be there because she was pregnant but she's there tonight in the audience with her daughter.  Aww!  Highlights reel of the season is going now, they get me every time.  Must be the slow motion and the sad music.

The top twenty is dancing Tyce's Lion King routine.  I love it!  It's so cool to see it with all the dancers.  Time for a break, then we'll see the judges' favorite routines from the season.

Ok Mary is picking her favorite routine and she chose Pasha and Lauren's Shane Sparks Transformers-inspired routine.  I'm surprised she picked it as her personal favorite but I'm happy to see it again!  Cat gets the audience up on their feet for the two once they're done.

After that, they show another reel of audition footage, mostly the worst stuff.  Cat introduces who Nigel called "the best clogger he's ever seen", Brandon Norris who didn't make it on the show but is now back doing a solo.  That's cool.

Promo for Next Great American Band, are you guys gonna watch?  What do you think?

Nigel chooses his favorite piece and not surprisingly, he chose Wade's hummingbird piece with Jaimie and Hok.  Awesome.  Jean-Marc Genereaux chose Dominic and Sabra's slow hip hop from Shane Sparks.  I hope Dominic gets to perform a different piece as well.

Adam Shankman gets a video, talking about his favorite dance and he chose Sara and Neil's disco routine to "Knock On Wood".  And there goes Neil's gigantic flip.  Amazing.  Another montage video of the best breaker moments during the audition round.  They bring back Brian Gaynor, the sickest popper I've ever seen.  I love this!

The top eight are on stage with a Shane Sparks Matrix-themed routine.  I like this one, particularly because Lauren is great in this.  Nigel announced some big tour news: Jesus, Shauna, Anya, and Hok will be on tour as alternates!  Nice!

Wade chooses the samba Dmitry choreographed that Lacey and Danny performed as his favorite piece.  Cat lets them know immediately after that one of them is leaving.  Lacey thinks it's her.  She's right and she's out.  Cue the montage video.  Time for commercials - what do you guys think of Lacey coming in 4th?

Cat introduces our first musical guest, Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls.  Shane Sparks chooses Sara and Pasha's West Coast Swing choreographed by Benji, last year's winner, as his favorite piece.  Next, Tyce picked his favorite routine and he chose Danny and Any's fox trot.  Time for a break but coming soon, Cat and Nigel are gonna dance!

Toni Meredith chooses Jesus and Sara's bizarre Wade Robson jazz routine.  Cool, I like this one!  Mia chooses Neil and Sabra's table piece for her favorite routine.  How convenient since at the end of it, one of them is going to have to go home.

Danny joins the two on stage and Cat eliminates one more dancer.  That person is: Neil.  NO!  Awww, man.   After the break, Cat really is going to dance.  'Bout time!

The top ten are back to perform one of their routines to an Imogen Heap song.  After that, Mary introduces Nigel and Cat but they can't be serious.  They superimposed their heads on little dancing cartoons!  No they weren't kidding.  I'm so mad, I feel cheated.

Ryan Cabrera is singing now.  Where'd his spiky hair go?  Dan Karaty chooses Mia's flower piece as his favorite routine.  I'm glad I get to see it again.   After the break, the winner will be revealed.  Is it going to be Sabra or Danny?

It's time for the final results, this is nuts.  After a long, slow speech by Cat, the winner is announced.

I'll be talking to the winner tomorrow right here on BuddyTV, don't miss it!  Also check out our So You Think You Can Dance recap for in-depth coverage of this episode.
