Tonight is the final two hour performance from the final four contestants on So You Think You Can Dance
. Rounding out the final four tonight are: Neil Haskell, Danny Tidwell, Lacey Schwimmer, and Sabra Johnson. There will no doubt be lots of partner dances, solos, and surprises. Get ready for a fun night and remember, that your votes determine the winner. I'm here with live thoughts throughout the night and feel free to post what you think too!
Alright, time to begin! Who's excited? The four do their intros, showing off their best moves. Danny and Neil had a spin-off. I don't know who did more. Cat looks like an Emmy statue in her gold dress! She lets us know everyone will dance with each other before the end of the night. Tonight's judges are Nigel, Mary, and hip hop choreographer Dan Karaty. Nigel lets us know the show will be back next season. Nice!
Mary just called Nigel an "English muffin" - that was a good one! Before the dances begin, we get a montage video showing us the final four's best moments, going all the way back to auditions. Time for a quick break and then the competition can get started!
Okay, back and first up, we find out the four will be dancing a Tyce DiOrio broadway routine. Tyce really loves his Fosse pieces. They all look great together, it's hard to pick a standout. Nigel goes down the line and really only criticizes Lacey for not connecting with her partner enough. Who stood out for you? Neil and Sabra are up next after the break.
Some videos will air throughout the night of Cat interviewing the final four. She does her solo which seems like ballroom with a little bit of pop and lock mixed in. Lacey's comments from the judges are mixed, they compliment her while also criticizing and she has tears in her eyes. Tonight, Lacey's number is 1-888-TEMPO-01.
Neil and Sabra's hip hop is up next. Neil doesn't exactly reek of street cred but the guy pulls out a nice routine with Sabra. It's not my favorite hip hop routine but I'm sure Neil's female fans loved it! Nigel didn't think it was strong enough and I can see why he said that. Mary and Dan were disappointed.
Danny and Lacey are up next with a Viennese Waltz. Here's two great technical dancers pulling off a really beautiful routine. Lacey tells a story about practicing and Danny calls her a liar. Ouch. The judges love the routine.
Cat interviews Neil, who said he didn't know he wanted to be a dancer until he got into high school. He throws in his gymnastics tricks into his solo and sometimes, they start to look the same but that's not saying Neil isn't one hell of a dancer. To vote for Neil tonight, call 1-888-TEMPO-02.
Lacey and Sabra dance a Wade Robson piece together about a mother and daughter fox. I love this routine. Wade's pieces are always totally original and cool. The two girls do a great job on it. Nigel didn't get it and Mary didn't feel it showcased their talents. Apparently, I'm on my own.
Cat's interview with Danny is up next who talks about being adopted by Travis' mom when he was ten. He also says he felt misunderstood much of the season but has tried to show himself. Danny also mixes tricks with dancing and he is superb! Everyone is on their feet and rightfully so. To vote for Danny tonight, you can call 1-888-TEMPO-03.
Neil and Danny perform together for the first time in a Mia Michaels contemporary routine. This looks like it's going to be fun. The routine makes Danny look like the better dancer but both perform very well and the piece is a lot of fun, as I had hoped.
We find out a little bit more about Sabra as she is the last soloist to perform. She loved Wade's peace routine the best this season and says she's a loud person in a little body. I can't tell if she fell during her solo or if that was intentional. Nigel says she has that quality that draws everybody in. To vote for Sabra, call 1-888-TEMPO-04.
Lacey and Neil get together to do the lindy hop choreographed by Nick Williams. Lacey's father must be so proud right now! The duo give a high energy routine with lots of "wow factor". The judges are impressed, though Mary gives some technique critique to Neil. She did give out the big scream though!
The final performance of the night is a cha cha danced by Sabra and Danny. The two have never partnered together before but you wouldn't know it. It's not my favorite routine but maybe one of my favorite performances of the night. Though they lacked some things technique wise, the judges are huge fans of the two.
Now, it's time for you to vote and decide who will win So You Think You Can Dance
