Tonight’s episode of
So You Think You Can Dance was very difficult to rank. At this point, you get the sense that all of these dancers deserve to be here and any one of them could be going home tomorrow. Unfortunately, there were no Mia Michaels contemporary routines tonight but every dance that went up on that stage tonight was well danced and executed. That being said, we still have to rank tonight’s performances so read on to find out where the pairs landed as well as the solos. See if you agree and post your thoughts, too!
Josh and Katee – Contemporary choreographed by Tyce DiOrio
There is no better duo this season than Josh and Katee. They are both outstanding dancers who give 100% each week. They are the only dancers to have never landed in the bottom. Their contemporary routine tonight about a forbidden love affair was beautifully executed and further proved why they deserve to be the last two standing!
Mark and Courtney – Jazz choreographed by Sonya Tayeh
I really loved this routine. I usually expect something earthy and organic when I get a cotemporary routine but this is Sonya Tayeh’s world and it is dark! Mark and Courtney loved this routine and it showed in their performance. That was a lot of weird minds coming together to create a beautiful dance.
Chelsie and Twitch – Mambo choreographed by Tony Meredith
I’m surprised by how well a hip hop dancer did on tonight’s mambo. Of course, we expect nothing less than perfection from Chelsie since Latin dance is her specialty but they delivered as a pair.
Josh and Katee – Paso Doble choreographed by Jason Gilksion
Usually, a paso doble is a paso doble in my book. They all start to look the same after a while. This one stood out to me and you can’t go wrong when you put Josh and Katee together.
Mark and Courtney – Viennese Waltz choreographed by Jason Gilkison
This is a little personal since the Viennese Waltz is my least favorite style of dance featured on the show. I thought Mark and Courtney pulled it off and looked beautiful dancing the routine given to them by Jason Gilkison. It just didn’t pack the punch that the other routines did and wasn’t totally memorable enough to land at the top of this week’s rankings.
Chelsie and Twitch – Hip Hop choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon D’Umo
I don’t mean to rank Chelsie and Twitch last tonight because I think they did a great job. This just happened to be my least favorite Tabitha and Napoleon routine of the season. I like the ones better with heart and a storyline. I liked their concept but felt that other routines outshined this one tonight.
Again, I can’t take anything away from any of the pairs tonight. I thought each routine was strong and worthy of votes. I can honestly say I have no idea who is going home tomorrow night.
