So You Think You Can DanceSo You Think You Can Dance is starting to heat up and get exciting!  We have known the identities of the top 10 finalists for a week now, but which of them will be continuing on to next weeK?

We know for sure that it won't be Jessica King who, due to an injury, has had to withdraw from the competition.  And tonight, for the first time on So You Think You Can Dance this season, the fate of the dancers lies entirely in the hands of voters at home.

I'll write down everything that happens faithfully right here in my live thoughts.  Stay with me tonight!

Welcome to So You Think You Can Dance!  The hour opens with a group Bollywood number, which is spectacular.  All the girls are wearing brightly colored saris, and the music is all like techno-Indian.

Cat Deeley announces that three of the choreographers, Shane Sparks, Wade Robson and Mandy Moore, got Emmy noms this week, as well as the makeup team.  She introduces ourrrr.....joodges (except she practically says, "jidges"): Lil C, Mary Murphy, and Nigel Lythgoe.

Tonight is the last time the top 10 will be together until the finale, so we are treated to three group dances.  For the second group performance of the evening, the top five girls perform a Mia Michaels contemporary routine to Celine Deline's rendition of Schubert's Ave Maria.  I know tons of people are annoyed by Mia Michaels' routines, but how can you watch something like this and not like it?  It's exquisite.  It's beautiful.  They look like angels.  She is such a talented choreographer.

After the routine, the girls line up on stage to find out who is in the bottom two.  Chelsie Hightower is safe and heads off stage.  However, Comfort Fedoke is in the bottom two and will have to dance a solo at the end of the night.  (The solo won't affect her fate, but it's another chance to show what she's capable of.)  Katee Shean is safe.  Courtney Galiano is also safe, which means that Kherington Payne is the other girl in the bottom and in danger of going home tonight.  That sounds about right.

Now, it's the guys' turn to show off.  In a dance created by a mystery choreographer, the top five guys take the stage for a jazzy, big bandy Broadway number.  They're all wearing white wifebeaters and black warm up pants.  As much as I love watching women dance, I have to admit that it's really, really cool to watch an all-male performance too.  I love the athleticism they put into dancing.  After the dance, Cat reveals that the mystery choreography is none other than Mr. Nigel Lythgoe.

Uh oh.  It's that time again.  The time when we find out which guys are in the bottom two.  The first to find out is Joshua Allen.  He is safe.  Joining him in the safe zone is William WingfieldMark Kanemura, however, is not that lucky and has landed in the bottom two.  Twitch Boss is safe, which means that Gev Manoukian is in the bottom two.  Sad!  Mark and Gev are two of my favorites!

The bottom two girls and the bottom two guys perform their solos.  Although these solos will not change the outcome decided by our votes last night, it's a way to fill up 20 minutes on the show.

Comfort goes first.  Lil C, with his superior speaking skills, says that Comfort is the most evolved dancer in the top 20.

Mark dances a quirky routine to "Black Betty" that I'm not all that crazy about.  Lil C dubs Mark the "most instrumental worker bee of the dance hive."

Kherington does her think on stage next.  Lil C reminds Kherington that everything the judges tell her is constructive criticism to help her get better.

Gev performs my favorite solo of the night, showing off some incredible strength with this crazy tilted push up into a handstand.  I love watching breakdancers!  Lil C, my favorite judge tonight, says that Gev has the most heart and is always rooting for the little guy.

Argh!  Another commercial break!

Finally, we get to find out the results of the vote.  The girl who received the fewest votes last night is Kherington, which means Comfort is safe.

And the guy who received the fewest votes is Gev.  Oh, sad!  But yay, Mark is safe!

Who are you sadder to see go?
Kherington Payne
Gev Manoukian
