Kathryn and Jakob - Contemporary
Choreographer: Desmond Richardson and Dwight Rhoden
Song
: At This Moment by Michael Buble

I expect this to be jaw droppingly flawless... who else has been waiting for this couple for weeks? Man, was I right, the lines the timing is perfect and the chemistry is palpable. Kathryn and Jakob seem to breathing together and with the music. So much technique, with more split leaps, hyper extended legs, and jetes than you can comprehend. But more than that, Kathryn and Jakob brought exactly what they both needed to to the routine and that was personality and commitment. You felt every aching moment of that dance in your stomach, heart, and throat. With no story or set up and on dancing alone, simply one of the most beautiful routines I've seen on So You Think You Can Dance.  It looked like it belonged on a professional stage with the premiere dancers doing it. And, in a way that's actually what happened. Kathryn and Jakob rose to each other's level of talent tonight and gave their heart.  They are rewarded with a standing ovation from the audience and the judges.

Judges Say: Nigel says the pair just stopped the show. He says that Kathryn is his favorite girl and has been for weeks and that he is absolutely stunning. Nigel begs Jakob to join a professional company because he is outstandingly brilliant. Mary says that was one of the best performances she has ever seen before crying. Adam says the routine was a game changer and he gets teary eyed before saying it was so good he can't talk.

Man, I don't envy anyone who has to go on after that.

Ashleigh and Ryan - Contemporary
Choreographer: Travis Wall
Song: "I'm There Too" Michelle Featherstone

I admit, I'm excited to see the marrieds dance together... it must be so emotional for the two of them. In fact, you can sense that it is, their joy and the weight of the moment is coming through the screen. Ashleigh handles the contemporary choreography and movement better than Ryan, who looks muscle bound during some of the more flowing movements while her lines are lovely. But as expected the chemistry and trust demonstrated in this partnership is what is truly beautiful, exemplafied in a blind backwards leap that Ashleigh makes at full speed towards Ryan.It may not have been as technically rigorous as the rest of the routines tonight, but the tenderness and beauty of it makes it memorable.

Judges Say: Nigel thinks that Ashleigh has better chemistry with Jakob than her husband but they should both be happy with how they did. Mary celebrates the moment for Ashleigh and Ryan who are bawling.

Kathryn and Russell - Hip Hop
Choreographer: Tabitha and Napoleon
Song: "I Can Transform Ya"

Not a lyrical Nappy Tabs hip hop routine this is hard hitting dirty hip hop and as expected Russell is crushing it. Also as expected, because girl has proved she can do anything, Kathryn is killing it too. There are some call backs to the Transformer routine from Season 2. Great synchronicity, musicality, and performance from the pair. They're both getting nasty and I mean that in the best way possible. A solid way to end season 6. Kathryn has risen to match the male stars in all of her routines this season ... but I don't think it'll result in a win for her.

Judges say: Nigel thought that Russell was tremendous as expected and that he was surprised by Kathryn's gangsterness. Mary says she has no idea how America is going to vote. While Adam says "that was so hot you guys."

So who's getting your vote tonight?

I gotta say, I'm dialing in for two dancers:

Kathryn and Jakob.

Kathryn for winning me over every week with her dancing and Jakob for being one of the best dancers I've ever had the pleasure of watching. If he joins a company, sign me up for season tickets.
