That's right, folks, it is almost time to jump on the hot tamale train once again as So You Think You Can Dance
leaps onto our TV screens with a two night premiere Tuesday, May 14 and Wednesday May 15. Here are the top 5 reasons to be excited about SYTYCD
1. These Dancers Have Talent
While Dancing with the Stars showcases how celebrity dancers learn to dance (or in some cases, not), the hopefuls on So You Think You Can Dance have heart and drive. We get to hear their personal stories and see their absolute love of dance.
2. A New Twist
Usually every season a new type of dance emerges to delight and astound the judges and audience. On Season 9, the "animation" dance form was introduced by Cyrus "Glitch" Spencer. Something tells me we will be seeing more of it this season.
3. Here Come the Judges
Besides Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy, we can look forward to seeing Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family), actress Minnie Driver, director and choreographer Adam Shankman and Stephen "tWitch" Boss as guest judges. I love that tWitch is joining the So You Think You Can Dance panel.
4. The Choreography is Fierce
The group dances are like Forrest Gump's box of chocolates-you never know what you are going to get, and that is exciting. Every week the choreographers present us with numbers that range from sweet and sentimental to creepy and odd. The creepy numbers make me wonder about some of the choreographers, but maybe that is just me.
5. The All-Stars Are Back
Who doesn't love the All-Stars? It's like reuniting with old friends that you haven't seen in a while. (If, of course, your friends are attractive, charismatic and super athletic. Aren't we all?) We get to see our favorite dancers from seasons past take another spin around the floor. This year the All-Stars include Kathryn McCormick (season 6), Stephen "Witch" Boss (season 4), Neil Haskell (season 3), Whitney Carson (season 9), Lauren Froderman (season 8 winner), Mark Kanemura (season 4), Robert Roldan (season 7) and Allison Holker (season 2).
What are you looking forward to most in Season 10?
The So You Think You Can Dance premiere airs May 14 at 8pm and May 15 at 9pm on FOX.
