Uma Thurman's character, Rebecca Duvall, is meddling in the creative decisions of Bombshell
. Ivy's out as Marilyn, but Derek may want her back. How will all this play out tonight? Will the team push back against Rebecca? If Ivy does come back, what does that mean for Karen? Tonight may start the process of answering these questions.
Five preview clips have been released ahead of tonight's episode, "Publicity."
According to NBC, tonight "Karen finds herself seduced by the glamorous life of new BFF Rebecca Duvall (special guest star Uma Thurman) -- but can Rebecca be trusted? What will Karen's ascent mean to her relationship with Dev? And will Rebecca drive Derek insane? Eileen introduces new beau Nick to ex-husband Jerry, while Julia panics when her son Leo goes missing."
First, Rebecca goes out to dinner with Karen and Dev. Seems innocent enough, right? But an argument breaks out between Rebecca and Dev. What will Karen do?
Next, Rebecca hasn't exactly been the easiest person to work with. Plus, there's paparazzi following her around. And Derek's had enough. It's time for another face-off!
As we all saw last week, Rebecca isn't much of a singer. How will the team work around that weakness? Derek thinks there should be a shadow Marilyn that sings a new song.
Speaking of the shadow Marilyns, it looks like Ivy has been hired to take on that role in this performance of an original song, "Secondhand White Baby Grand." How do you think Megan Hilty did on this song?
Finally, here's video of a performance that's been hyped up for weeks now: The Bollywood number! During this song, we see pretty much the entire cast take part in some form or another.
According to EW
, this performance of an original song, "A Thousand and One Nights," is "triggered by the strained relationship between Karen and Dev. 'They have dinner in an Indian restaurant and there are Bollywood numbers playing in the videos on the wall,' says Smash
creator Theresa Rebeck. ... 'So in the middle of the fight [between Dev and Rebecca], Karen falls into this fantasy.'"
And here's a TV spot promo for "Publicity":
airs Mondays at 10pm on NBC.
