Last week's episode of Smallville featured one of the most shocking moments in the history of the series.  Tomorrow night, the characters move on from Lionel's (John Glover) surprising demise as Clark desperately searches for a way to reverse Lana's (Kristin Kreuk) condition.  Will he be able to find Brainiac in time, or will Lana slip away from him forever?  Meanwhile, Chloe and Jimmy find themselves at odds thanks to the cunning machinations of Lex Luthor.

To prepare fans for tomorrow night's installment, entitled "Sleeper," we have some promo photos and a trailer for the episode.

The official CW description of the episode reads, "Clark desperately searches for Kara (Laura Vandervoort) and Brainiac, as Brainiac is the only one who can reverse Lana's condition.  Clark asks Chloe to check any large power surges in the area, so she breaks into several government computers, setting off alarms.  Jimmy is caught between the Department of Security -- who threatens him with jail time unless he helps them arrest Chloe -- and Lex (Michael Rosenbaum), who offers to help clear Chloe if Jimmy agrees to be in his debt."

In the first photo, we see Chloe (Allison Mack) being held captive by a woman named Vanessa.  Considering how beat up Chloe looks, I'm going to guess that Vanessa isn't a nice, normal member of the Department of Security.



The next photo shows a rather suave looking Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore) attending to Chloe.  Will he end up in Lex's debt by the end of the episode?



The trailer for the episode reveals a lot of interesting tidbits.  We see Lex discovering the Fortress of Solitude, Kara and Clark (Tom Welling) taking to the skies, and a quick glimpse at Brainiac.  By the end of the season, Smallville will never be the same.



Episode 7.17 of Smallville, "Sleeper," airs Thursday at 8pm on the CW.
