'Smallville' Rumors Flourish as Production Approaches

Smallville Season Seven RumorsSay it isn’t so!  Word drifted around the net yesterday of some casting changes for Smallville of the morbid variety.  As in someone may be dead, dead, dead, following last season’s finale.  How dead?  Read on for some of the details and a little bit of informed speculation.

Kristin from E!Online has stated that a female body will be brought to the morgue in the premiere of Smallville.  As we know, two girls died at the end of the Smallville season six finale, Chloe and Lana.  So this would lead us to believe that one or the other is definitely off the show, right?  Wrong.

Even though Kristin is quick with the scoop, she’s not as quick as super Smallville site Kryptonsite.com.  The good folks there not only have given us the title of season seven’s premiere, “Bizarro,” but have also clarified these morgue rumors considerably.  The girl going to the slab is Chloe, but she is not dead.

There is still no official word on what will become of Lana. Kristin Kreuk still has second billing on the cast list, but as I type this there is no official word that she has made an agreement with the Smallville producers, or has she?

Consider this bald speculation:  what if whether or not Lana returns is part of Smallville’s marketing for season seven?  Could it be Kreuk is signed, hence her name prominently attached to the cast list, but the CW wants to hold off and answer that question with the seventh season premiere?

Stranger things have happened, just ask Katee Sackhoff who gleefully played dead and sacrificed her name from the Battlestar Galactica finale to help pull the wool over audiences eyes.

Fans of Aaron Ashmore’s Jimmy Olson will need to wait a couple of episodes, it seems Ashmore as well as John Glover will not be in the first couple of episodes, but Smallville’s most talked about new addition, Kara AKA Supergirl, will be making her debut first thing in the premiere.
