Smallville: Preview of Episode 9.04 "Echo"
We're going to play a bit on Smallville because tonight marks the return of the Toyman.  Actor Chris Gauthier is back to portray this villain, and Oliver (Justin Hartley) better watch his back.  The grudge held by Winslow Schott still hasn't dissipated, which means trouble for Queen and possibly even the whole of Metropolis.

On tonight's episode titled "Echo," we see Tess (Cassidy Freeman) persuading Oliver to attend a gala held for Queen Industries.  He doesn't like the idea, but she tells him that they need to put the Board at ease regarding his status.

Things make a turn for the worst as the Toyman reappears in Oliver's life.  He's not the only one who has to worry, as the great inventor has come prepared.  Hoping to make an explosive entrance, he shows up with a bomb.  The Toyman has been plotting revenge against Oliver, so he takes him hostage and threatens him.

If Oliver does not admit to murdering Lex Luthor, it's kablooey for the place and the people in it.  The Toyman is determined to seek retribution, and he's not leaving Queen Industries alone until he gets it.

As for Clark (Tom Welling), he's busy training with Jor-El.  Part of that is gaining yet another superpower - the ability to hear people's thoughts.  He might just use it on a crime investigation with Lois (Erica Durance).  They've been once again given another assignment for the Daily Planet, and it may just be a hostage situation.  Could it be Oliver's?

Below's a clip of tonight's episode "Echo," and it looks as though Clark isn't enjoying his newfound skills.

"Echo" was directed by Wayne Rose and written by Bryan Q. Miller.  Allison Mack will also be appearing in the episode, but we're not sure how Chloe figures in the plot yet.

Don't forget to catch Smallville tonight, Friday at 8pm on the CW.
