This Thursday
Smallville returns after a three week hiatus with no more interruptions scheduled to disrupt the drama of season eight's final four episodes. The CW released a clip from this week's episode, "Stiletto", in which Lois Lane takes on a superhero alter ego.
According to the official episode description, Lois (Erica Durance) believes that she needs a big story to secure her
reputation as a star reporter but the red/blue blur continues to elude
her. However, after Chloe (Allison Mack) is mugged, Lois steps in to
fend off one of the attackers and uses the opportunity to pretend a new
superhero, Stiletto, has come to town and is giving exclusives to
Lois. Clark (Tom Welling) is concerned Lois will hurt herself
pretending to be a superhero but after he is captured by thugs with
kryptonite, Lois steps in to save the day.
In this clip Stiletto holds a secret meeting with the Red-Blue Blur
before working out the kinks of acting like a superhero. Stiletto looks
something like Julie Newmar's Catwoman from the 60s Batman, but she
comes across like a kid in a Halloween costume more than anything. She
speaks with an accent but she can't seem to decide whether she's
Southern, British or Australian. Comedy ensues.
Stiletto sounds like a fun but fluffy episode but the Stiletto story
doesn't really clarify the major cliffhanger at the end of
Smallville's April 2 episode, "Eternal." When last we saw her, Chloe had locked herself in
the basement
with a now-invincible Doomsday, doing her part to save the world by
quieting his inner demons. Obviously she's been succesful at soothing
him, but how long will that last? Watch Smallville this Thursday and check back throughout the week for more coverage at BuddyTV.
