She might as well be Supergirl! And yes: I realize Kara would object to that statement.

But even without superpowers, Smallville's Lois Lane (Erica Durance) combines the talents of Nancy Drew, Sarah Connor and Katie Couric all in the body of Heidi Klum. Guys dream of her--a girl who drinks beer, calls out football plays in her sleep, attends monster truck rallies and still drops jaws in that little black dress. So what is the problem? Lois seems to have forgotten just how great she is herself. Let me quote:

Clark: "There are a lot of good things about you that would attract a lot of great guys."

Lois: "Really? Like what?!"

And I did not detect her usual hint of sarcasm either. In fact, she was far too serious. Might this be one of those "issues" executive producer Katherine Souders referenced during her recent interviews with TVGuide and EW? Self-consciousness and insecurity? Please note: Lois not only tweeked her online profile, the girl bought two new outfits during the first 19 minutes of the episode and consistently demonstrates a desperate need to be "better" than others.

Maybe I am crazy. Maybe her behavior reflected only a healthy sense of competition and an honest desire to impress the 'Good Morning Metropolis' producers and viewers. But the idea that Lois harbors a sense of hesitancy, a lack of confidence and distrust regarding relationships makes sense considering her history with Oliver. It also offers Erica Durance the opportunity for further exploration and development of the layers that make Lois a real person instead of just a caricature. What do you think?

Speaking of layers...Minor spoilers ahead.

Souders revealed that Chloe (Allison Mack) faces trust issues of her own this season--though after the Jimmy/Davis debacle of last season this is not exactly surprising. The executive producer further hinted that while Chloe spends significant screen time "developing herself" and her role as the Watchtower, there may also be a "budding romance in her life from an unexpected source." Who? Souders is not naming names, but she describes the potential love interest as "somebody who is very charming and it would be hard for anybody not to have a fire for."

My money is on Oliver Queen (Justin Hartley). Their final scene together in "Roulette" completely sold me on the possible pairing. Moreoever, the following conversation between Chloe and Oliver resembles ever so closely Souders' own comments about Chloe and why a Chlark pairing might never work --while also justifying why I think Chloe and Oliver deserve a shot.

Chloe: "Clark would never in a million years risk what needed to be done."

Oliver: "Well, he's led a different life than we have, hasn't he? I can't expect him to know me like you do."

Once again, I may be completely wrong as Souders' final reveal involved Chloe encountering a new hero during the latter half of the season, one "who is not all that he's cracked up to be." But that sounds a little too much like Davis Bloome (Sam Witwer) all over again. Please! Let us not repeat that tragic storyline.

So tell me: Are you still pining for Clana? All about Clois? Holding out hope for Chlark? Or boarding the good ship Chloli-pop? Sound off below.
