At this point, it is already well-known that actress Helen Slater, who played Supergirl in the eponymous 1984 film, will be guest-starring in the sixth episode of Smallville's current season.  Slater will debut on The CW series as Lara, Kara Zor-El's aunt and Clark's biological mother.

However, fans of Smallville will be happy to know that Lara is not the only Kryptonian family member who will make an appearance on the particular episode, which is set to air on November 1.  For those who are interested to know who the other family member is, or are eager to get some plot spoilers on the episode, read on.

According to Kryptonsite, viewers can expect to see Kara's (Laura Vandervoort) father, Zor-El, on the episode.  Initially, there were speculations flying about that Hercules star Kevin Sorbo would be assuming the role, but on October 8, Kryptonsite announced that Zor-El will be played by Christopher Heyerdahl, more popularly known as Male Wraith on Stargate Atlantis.

Moving on to the meat of the plot, Clark (Tom Welling) finds out that Kara is in Washington searching for the aquamarine crystal from her ship. Kara is captured after she breaks into the lab and rendered helpless with a truth serum containing kryptonite.  Due to the serum, Kara relives a prior trip to Earth when she followed Clark's mother, Lara, to the Kent Farm.

By damaging the machine with his heat vision, Clark is able to save Kara, but in the process also falls victim to the truth serum.  He ends up seeing what Kara sees: his mother.

Meanwhile, Chloe (Allison Mack) finds out about a secret that Lana (Kristin Kreuk) has been hiding from Clark.

Michael Rosenbaum also appears in the episode as Lex Luthor.  According to Kryptonsite, Lex walks into the lab and is intrigued when he sees the government agents studying the crystal.
