Michael Rosenbaum and John Schneider aren’t the only Smallville actors with upcoming movies. Aaron Ashmore, known as Jimmy Olsen on the science fiction teen drama, stars in the big screen in the movie entitled Palo Alto.

However, the Smallville actor’s movie is still pending for release in theaters despite the fact that it already premiered two months ago at the 6th annual Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. The production of Palo Alto is described as challenging for the producers since they had to accommodate a small filming budget, raising 200,000 from independent investors. Producers of the film are still in the middle of finding a distributor to partner with so that the movie can be released in theaters.

Set in Palo Alto, California, Palo Alto centers on four college freshmen, Alec, Nolan, Patrick and Ryan, on their last night of Thanksgiving break. In an attempt to look for excitement in a seemingly boring small town, they sneak into an old classroom to retrieve an item confiscated by a high school teacher. While conversing, a campus security discovers them, prompting the four friends to run and escape the capture. They part ways thinking that the night will end with no excitement only to discover that each person will soon embark on a distinct adventure while their stories briefly intersect with one another.

The film features Ashmore as Alec, Johnny Lewis as Nolan, Ben Savage as Patrick, Justin Mentell as Ryan. Also included in the movie are Tom Arnold as Morgan, Shoshana Bush as Audrey, Hailey Bright as Jessica, Eve Brent as Susan Pierce, Rosalie Ward as Amy, and Autumn Reeser as Jaime.

Palo Alto is produced by Daniel Engelhardt, directed by Brad Leong and written by Tony Vallone.
