For those who aren't that familiar with the Silver Banshee, here's a bit of her background.  This villain, whose real name is Siobhan McDougal, is "a vengeful spirit of a fallen Gaelic heroine."  She won't exactly be tearing Metropolis apart, but will indeed be a dilemma for a certain couple.

On the Smallville episode, the Banshee is released from the underworld accidentally and is set free upon an unassuming bed and breakfast.  It's situated way out in the country, so her retaliation will be targeting the vacationers there.  And who else will be around to save the day but Clark (Tom Welling)?

Another teaser for this episode is that Clark isn't the only one staying in the B&B.  He has Lois (Erica Durance) with him, which will certainly make for an interesting turn of events.  A spiteful spirit to battle and emotions to keep at bay?  Will Superman be able to handle all of it?

Well, seeing as how he'll be handling plenty of DC baddies in the near-future, he better be prepared.  The Banshee is joining the likes of Amanda Waller (Pam Grier) and Zod (Callum Blue) for this season of Smallville.  That's not to mention the heroes we'll be meeting soon, from Hawkman (Michael Shanks) to Dr. Fate (Brent Stait) and Stargirl (Britt Irvin).

Now, for the obligatory credits check on the actress.  Odessa Rae has had several television roles, notably for Chuck and Leverage.  She has also been seen in a number of lesser-known flicks like Ready or Not and the Ellen Page-starrer Hard Candy.

Hopefully, Odessa Rae will be more remembered for this role as the Silver Banshee.  The episode "Escape" will reportedly air sometime in March.
