Island Ollie spends the next few two years stuck on the island practicing his aim while at the same time getting more and more naked. He hears some people, but when he sees them, he touches a flower and suddenly passes out.
Back in the real world, Lois shows up to see Oliver, and she instantly calls for her special hangover recipe that involves a dill pickle. I can only assume the reason she thought of that particular food was because Oliver has his shirt unbuttoned and is very sweaty. Even dying, the man looks better than most normal people on their best days. Oliver mumbles the name “Mercer.”
This takes us back to Island Ollie, who is covered in leeches. They produce a curing enzyme, according to his nurse, Tess Mercer! She tells him he’d be dead in 12 hours if not for the leeches, and that if went to a hospital, they would have killed him. If you’re wondering why Tess is on the island, it’s because she and her friend have been kidnapped.
The island mates bond as Tess explains a speed boat attacked her while on a school trip. The kidnappers recognize Oliver Queen and see dollar signs dancing in their eyes. The kidnappers shoot Tess’ friend, then threaten to kill Tess as well until Oliver steps in and saves her.
At the hospital, Davis shows Clark that Oliver’s date is fine, so they need to bring him in. Seconds later, she goes into cardiac arrest and dies. Meanwhile, Lois is pouring her heart out to Oliver, confessing that she’s still in love with him.
Chloe spent her time doing research on the poison using the increased intelligence and speed reading ability she got from Brainiac. Chloe narrows the toxin down to the specific flower in the South Pacific and mines the LuthorCorp database to find it, deciding that Clark needs to call in a favor from Tess for the antidote.
Clark begs Tess for the antidote, and she is swayed by the discovery that the patient is Oliver Queen. She tells him the antidote is in Brazil, but it wouldn’t make it back in time. At the apartment, Lois packs Oliver in ice because he’s getting way too hot, in every way imaginable. Davis shows u, but there’s nothing he can do until Clark shows up at the perfect time with the antidote, fresh from a quick trip to Brazil.
