Chloe shows up at the Talon and is saddened to see Jimmy being wheeled off on a stretcher. Oliver asks for an explanation about why she's harboring a serial killer. She still doesn't see it that way, saying that if she's not around him to calm the beast, innocent people will die. She doesn't seem to recognize the obvious third option - get rid of Davis. Even after Oliver chastises her, she still thinks she did the right thing. Oliver lets it slip that Clark took Davis to finish this.
At the Fortress of Solitude, Clark offers Davis a way out by using the Fortress to send him to the PZ. Davis doesn't want to live in a world without Chloe because he believes that she makes him human. No, that's not how to works, you can't be a part-time alien. After all that talking doesn't work, it's time for what we've all been waiting for...Clark vs. Davis!
They throw each other across the room and then Clark puts his dark crystal into its magic hole. That opens up the portal to the PZ and Davis vows that if he's going, he's taking Clark with him. That doesn't go so well because he's weakened by the sudden presence of Chloe. How exactly did Chloe get up to the Fortress that quickly?
She pulls out the crystal and stops Clark from sending her psycho boyfriend away. Shen there's some more flashes in the Fortress and Chloe and Davis vanish.
The next day, impressed by Jimmy's moxie during their basement lockdown, Oliver offers Jimmy a job working for him. Oliver then heads to the Isis Foundation to find Clark desperately using her computer to try and track her. Clark refuses to accept that Chloe has genuine feelings for Davis, but Oliver tries to explain to him that Chloe isn't the sweet, virtuous girl-next-door Clark went to high school with.
Cgloe calls up Clark and tries to explain that by protecting Davis, she's really protecting Clark to keep his eyes on the prize by removing the pain that would come with locking away his Kryptonian brother Davis and forcing him to a life of monsterhood in the PZ. Whatever helps you sleep at night, girlie.
