By night, Davis is all healed up, as you can tell by his flawless body when he lies in bed. He wakes up and tries to leave, but he has a flashback to when he and Lex used to pretend to fight with fake swords. Young Lex fake-kills Young Davis and opens his reward, a box of Kryptonite. But when the box is cracked, Young Davis suffers unimaginable pain.
Davis comes back to the present and tries to escape, but Tess is on hand to offer a Biblical lesson. She believes Davis is Judas, a necessary counterpart to Clark’s Jesus, and Davis must betray and kill Clark so that he can come back to life and save mankind. This doesn’t sit well with Davis, so he gets angry and starts to turn into Doomsday. He smacks her down and leaves after learning that Clark is his better half.
Speaking of Clark, he’s doing more research on Davis while doing everything in his power not to rub Chloe’s face in the fact that the boy she likes is evil, just like her ex-husband told her. They find out that Tess Mercer is also looking into Davis, so they figure that’s a good place to start.
In the hospital, Clark visits Tess, who is recovering nicely from the Davis attack. She pretty much tells him everything that she knows, which is the complete truth. There were two boys on the ship, Lionel incorrectly assumed Davis was the Traveler, and while the Luthor men were busy fighting over who would be a better archenemy for Clark, they couldn’t see that he already had one. Clark tries to act like she’s crazy for thinking he and Davis are both aliens, but he’s just not that good of an actor.
Elsewhere, Davis goes to Chloe and begs her to help him die. She takes him to a lab with a cage where she can pull a lever and douse him in a Kryptonite shower.. But Clark arrives at the last minute to stop this. It’s sad how Clark is trying to help save the life of Doomsday. He’s convinced they could be like brothers, but Davis promises them that he was sent to destroy Clark.
