Some snooping turns up the dead body of the man Jimmy saw Davis kill. Davis turns up and defends himself by claiming the dead drunk driver deserved to die. In order to trick Jimmy, Davis then injects him with a ton of morphine to make him think this was all just another delusion.

Delusional Jimmy then wakes up in his hospital bed and sees Chloe running away from Doomsday. He sees her trapped in a room with the monster and then it kills her. That’s when we see he’s surrounded by people and Chloe is fine because this was just a drug-induced hallucination.

Jimmy refuses to accept defeat, so he follows Davis into an alley and handcuffs him to two poles. Jimmy thinks he’s both a murderer and trying to have sex with Chloe. Davis breaks a handcuff and Jimmy picks up a lead pipe, but Chloe zaps her husband with a taser first. I really don’t think she understands the concept of marriage. Davis starts to turn into Doomsday as he screams out for Chloe to leave, but she touches him on the shoulder and the beast goes away.

The next day Chloe goes to the hospital to pick up Jimmy, but Jimmy says that they don’t have a home together any more. He’s sick and tired of her always taking someone else’s side, whether it’s Clark or Davis. It’s sad, but based solely on this episode, he’s completely correct. “Marrying you was the biggest mistake of my life,” he tells her.

As one last act of vengeance, Jimmy rushes over to the Daily Planet and leaves Tess Mercer a note: “Meet Davis Bloom.” It’s weird because he’s acting like a bad guy, but he’s actually doing everything exactly as he should.
