Kristin Kreuk Discusses 'Smallville' and Other Projects
Never one to disappoint fans, Kristin Kreuk recently talked about her brief return to Smallville, during yesterday's Spike's Video Game Awards.  However, she's not just Lana Lang next year.  With her new hairdo, she's also set on bringing a tough attitude to the big screen as the title character in the film Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li.

According to reports, Kreuk will surely reprise the role that catapulted her to fame, as Lana Lang on the hit series Smallville.  Asked if she would be popping up again during the season, the actress answered on a positive note.  “I will. I have four more episodes that will air starting January 15th.”

Of course, she's there to pick up where she left off.  “Lana is coming back after being away for a long time.  The audience gets to find out what happened to her, what occurred during that time period.”

In addition to the welcome return of Lana on the series, we get to see her in a new light.  “She's very different when she comes back,” Kreuk reveals.  “Then she gets a beautiful send-off.  She's been a victim for so long, so she gets a beautiful send-off as a hero that her fans will really, really like.”

Sadly, another season of Smallville isn't just in the future for our dear Lana.  Kreuk wasn't quite sure if another installment of the series is on the way, but she's certain she won't take part.  “It depends on whatever goes on between Tom Welling and the powers that be.  If there is another season, I won't be there – that is all I know.”

Since she's moving on to one heck of a project next year, Kristin Kreuk excitedly discussed her role in the upcoming Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li.  “It's the origin story of Chun-Li, what happens in her childhood and through her young adult years that causes her to become the fighter that she is.”

Kreuk continued: “It's kind of a spiritual journey in a lot of ways.  A traditional kung-fu story where I'm very angry and going to go get revenge, but I find a master who teaches me to overcome my emotions so I can see the greater good, then become a stronger fighter because internally you have a greater strength.”
