John Schneider, former cast member on Smallville, got upset over the $9,900,500 winning bid on his car restored 1969 General Lee Dukes of Hazzard car, which he auctioned on eBay.

Schneider, a 47-year old native of Mount Kisco, New York, played Jonathan Kent on Smallville and became popular with his role as Bo Duke in the American television series The Dukes of Hazzard.

In an attempt to raise money for to make a sequel to his 2006 film, Collier & Co., Schneider auctioned his General Lee car on eBay which includes signed autograph of all the living original cast and crew members of The Dukes of Hazzard show. The said car was also featured in the film Dukes Go To Hollywood and was used by Schneider in the Silver State Classic Challenge in Nevada. Last week, a bid for the car, which amounts to neatly ten million dollars, set a record on eBay.

Upon learning the bid, Schneider became ecstatic about the news. "In my wildest dreams, two people would get into a bidding war at about $2.5 million ... and I would have been delighted with that. However, I'm three times as delighted as that now," he said.

Unfortunately, the bid never materialized. The winner of the bid, identified as William Fisher from Laguna Hills, did not return emails and did not answer calls.

With the $9,900,500 bid appearing as a hoax, Schneider decided to enlist his car with an auction firm that strictly screens buyers.

In the past, there had been other reported incidents similar to the case of the former Smallville actor. eBay representative Catherine England said the company doesn't keep track of how many winning bidders break their promise. "There are all sorts of reasons a transaction may fall through, and we have a claims process for both buyer and seller," England said.
