The nerds are getting the girls. Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly has reported that Smallville actress Kristin Kreuk will be heading over to the NBC series Chuck. After her vacation from TV, she's bagged a new role and will be playing a love interest for the show's protagonist.
The 26-year-old actress will be joining the show as Hannah, a girl who Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi) meets on a flight to Paris. She's just been laid off from her glamorous job in the world of publishing, so she ends up working at the Buy More. The guys of the Nerd Herd should consider themselves lucky.
"Chuck and Hannah definitely have feelings for each other," an insider hinted. Kreuk will be appearing for multiple episodes for the show's third season.
It seems as though the NBC executives behind Chuck have feelings for the Man of Steel as well. The
Superman theme continues, since it was Brandon Routh who was recently cast on the show as a new romance for Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski). Obviously, there's some trouble ready for the series' main couple when new blood's involved.
Anyway, it has been confirmed that Routh will be portraying a character named Shaw. He's a mysterious spy who soon takes control of Operation Bartowski, taking the spotlight away from Chuck. Shaw also ends up becoming the boy's mentor, as well as a rival for the affections of Sarah.
Reports say that Brandon Routh will make his appearance on the fourth episode of the third season, but there's no word yet on Kristin Kreuk's. Would it be better as a surprise?
Still, it's going to be ages before that premieres. The new season of
Chuck won't hit television screens until March of next year. With this super guest list, fans are certainly going to beg for NBC to move up the show's premiere date. Surely those guys will listen, given how the famous "Save Chuck" campaign succeeded and all.
