Skins, the award-winning British comedic teen drama from Company Pictures, is now coming to U.S. audiences.  The series, which is one of E4's flagship programs in their attempt to start showing more British content on their channels, will be aired on BBC America starting August 13 at 9pm ET/PT.

Expect teenagers to grab life by the balls in the hot new drama Skins.  Created by Jamie Brittain and Bryan Elsley, the series revolves around the lives of a group of friends, consisting of 16 to 19-year-olds who live in Bristol.  Described as a representation of the everyday lives of adolescents, each episode features a self-contained theme that focuses on each different character, while leaving room for several story arcs that span different episodes.  In each episode of Skins, there is also a short accompanying montage of that episode's central character.

Leading Skins is Nicholas Hoult (About a Boy, The Weather Man), who plays Tony, the best-looking, most popular boy in town.  Tony has always been a born leader, though he often whips off his crew on a new mission at someone else's expense. April Pearson (Casualty) joins the cast as Tony’s drop dead gorgeous ex-girlfriend Michelle, while Mike Bailey appears as Sid Jenkins, a smart boy who is desperate to lose his virginity.

Also included on the show are Hannah Murray as anorexic Cassie Ainsworth, Joe Dempsie as teenage party animal Chris Miles, Larissa Wilson as talented musician Jal Fazer, Mitch Hewer as the openly gay Maxxie Oliver, Dev Patel as Muslim boy Anwar Kharral, Aimee-Ffion Edwards as the new kid on the block Sketch.

Get ready as a potent mix of humorous, heartbreaking and shocking stories unfold as the group get high, get drunk, get laid and get up for school, while pushing the boundaries with their parents on Skins.
