Freddy Rodriguez is an American actor born on January 17, 1975 in Chicago, Illinois. The son of Puerto Rican immigrants, he graduated from Lincoln Park High School and began his performing career in a number of movies. Among these were A Walk in the Clouds alongside Keanu Reeves, Can't Hardly Wait, Dead Presidents with Chris Tucker, and the M. Night Shymalan film Lady in the Water. Rodriguez also starred in Poseidon, Harsh Times, and in Planet Terror, one-half of the double feature Grindhouse. His television work includes Ugly Betty, Scrubs, and Teen Titans. He is also planning to produce a film adaptation of the book Bodega Dreams, working on it both as an actor and executive producer.

Federico “Rico” Diaz is portrayed by Freddy Rodriguez in the award-winning HBO television drama Six Feet Under. A talented restoration artist, he first meets the Fisher family when his father Mauricio dies in a messy accident, and is awed by Nathaniel Fisher Sr.'s skill at restoring Mauricio's wrecked face. He then befriends Nathaniel, who pays for Rico's education and helps train him as a restorative artist for the deceased. Rico becomes known as one of the best in the business, and works for a time with the Kroehner Services International funeral home, before coming back to work with Nathaniel's sons. He's able to buy 25% of the company, changing the name to Fisher & Diaz.
