In New York and Los Angeles, a mysterious ad campaign on subway cars and train stations appears, with such messages as "The woman in red is flirting with you," and "The person next to you could be your next boss." A web address is the only information given.
The New York Times reported today that the site, u-r-connected.com, did not contain information identifying the ABC network or the fact that it was advertising a TV show, but just the concept of "six degrees of separation," and photos & first names of six people.
ABC hoped people would figure out on their own that it was a campaign for their new series
Six Degrees, or at least for a TV show, "sooner rather than later," said Michael Benson, senior vice president for marketing at ABC.
The people clearly needed a little more help. The site now contains trailers for the show and information about when it airs.
Six Degrees premieres this Thursday, September 21 on ABC.
